Patrick Harshman Dr. Harshman joined Harmonic in 1993 and was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in May 2006. In December 2005, he was appointed Executive Vice President responsible for the majority of our operational functions, including the unified digital video and broadband optical networking divisions as well as global manufacturing. Prior to the consolidation of our product divisions, Mr. Harshman held the position of President of the Convergent Systems division and, for more than four years, was President of the Broadband Access Networks division. Prior to this, Mr. Harshman held key leadership positions in marketing, international sales, and research and development. Mr. Harshman earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and completed an Executive Management Program at Stanford University. Carolyn V. Aver Carolyn V. Aver joined Harmonic on June 1, 2010 as Chief Financial Officer. From 2002 to 2007, she served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Agile Software Corporation until its acquisition by Oracle Corporation. From 1998 to 2000, Ms. Aver was the Chief Financial Officer of USWeb/CKS until its merger with the CKS Group. She was the Chief Financial Officer of ParcPlace-Digitalk from 1993 to 1997 until its acquisition. From 1984 to 1993, Ms. Aver was the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Autodesk. Ms. Aver began her career with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young), and earned her CPA in 1986. She obtained a B.S. in Accounting from California State University East Bay. Shahar Bar Shahar Bar joined Harmonic in 1999 and was appointed Vice President of Corporate Development in June 2008. He is responsible for identifying, analyzing and pursuing new video markets and associated acquisition targets that complement and drive Harmonic's growth throughout the world. Mr. Bar's experience at Harmonic includes a variety of roles in engineering, marketing and management including Director of Satellite and Broadcast markets and Director of On-Demand solutions. Prior to joining Harmonic, Mr. Bar held various positions at Rafael, a defense industry corporation, including Senior Project Manager and Engineering Manager. A Cum Laude graduate of the Technion, Israel's Institute of Technology, Mr. Bar holds a B.S. in Information Systems and an MBA. Mark Carrington Mark Carrington rejoined Harmonic in 2009 and served as Vice President of Services and Support before taking the role of Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales in 2011. Previously Mark had been with DiviCom Inc, which was sold to Harmonic in 2000, after which Mark assumed responsibility for the consolidated field operations division. Between his tenures at Harmonic, Mark worked with the leadership of a number of start-up and small companies on growth strategies/execution, business planning and process improvement. Mark began his career at IBM and held a number of strategic management positions during his time there. Nimrod Ben-Natan Nimrod Ben-Natan joined Harmonic in 1997 and was appointed Vice President of Product Marketing, Solutions and Strategy in 2007. Mr. Ben-Natan initially joined Harmonic as a software engineer to design and develop its first-generation video transmission platform, and in 2000, transitioned to product marketing, solutions and strategy to develop the digital video cable segment. From 1993 to 1997, Mr. Ben-Natan was employed at Orckit Communications Ltd., a digital subscriber line developer. Previously, Mr Ben-Natan worked on wireless communications systems while he was with the Israeli Defense Signal Corps. Mr. Ben-Natan holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Tel Aviv University. Charles Bonasera Charles Bonasera joined Harmonic in October 2006 as Vice President, Operations. From 2005 to 2006, he was Senior Director-Global Sourcing at Solectron, a leading global provider of electronics manufacturing services and supply chain solutions. From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Bonasera held various key positions in outsourcing strategies, commodity management, supply management and supply chain development at Sun Microsystems. Neven Haltmayer Neven Haltmayer joined Harmonic in December of 2002 and was appointed Vice President Research and Development in November 2005. Prior to November 2005, Mr. Haltmayer was Director of Engineering of Compression Systems and managed the development of Harmonic’s MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 encoder and Electra product lines. Between May 2001 and 2002, Mr. Haltmayer held various key positions including Vice President of Engineering and was responsible for system integration and development of STB middleware and interactive applications while at Canal Plus Technologies. Mr. Haltmayer earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Peter E. Hilliard Pete Hilliard joined Harmonic Inc. in October, 2008 and brings over 20 years of executive Human Resources leadership experience. Previously, Mr. Hilliard was Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Corporate Services with Agile Software Corporation from 2002 until acquired by Oracle in 2007. Prior to Agile Mr. Hilliard served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Administration with internet infrastructure companies Metromedia Fiber Network, Inc. and SiteSmith, Inc. and was Partner & Vice President of Client Services with consulting firm 54th Street Partners, LLC, where he led strategic engagements with clients such as Webvan, Borland Software, BeVocal and SiteSmith. Prior, he held senior executive HR roles with explosive growth company, Boston Market, Inc. Mr. Hilliard also serves on the Board of Directors with enterprise solution service provider Metaverse Mod Squad, Inc., and on the Advisory Board of the consulting firm, Compinsense. Ron Howe Ron Howe joined Harmonic from Omneon in 2010, and has been responsible for Omneon's Technical Support, Field Service, and Professional Services teams globally since 2005. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Global Services at BlueArc Corporation, responsible for building and managing all aspects of the global services infrastructure and developing the firm's outstanding customer service reputation within the enterprise class Network Attached Storage (NAS) industry. Prior to BlueArc, he was Vice President of Professional Services at Minerva Networks, Inc., and was instrumental in creating that company's delivery model for its interactive television system solutions over broadband IP networks. Prior to Minerva, he was the Director of Worldwide Systems Engineering & Integration Services (DiviSys) at DiviCom, Inc. (acquired by Harmonic Inc.), contributing heavily to that company's successful penetration of the global digital broadcast market. Prior to DiviCom, he held Director-level positions at TRW, Inc. (acquired by Northrop Grumman), responsible for business areas delivering large-scale communications and information technology systems to global customers. Larry Kaplan Lawrence R. Kaplan is a co-founder of Omneon and currently serves on the executive management staff of Harmonic. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Omneon since its inception in May 1998 to June 2003. From June 2003, Kaplan was Executive Chairman and then Vice Chairman of the Board. He also reassumed the position of President and Chief Executive Officer on an interim basis for the period May 2008 through January 2009. Geoff Stedman Geoff Stedman came to Harmonic from Omneon in 2010. Prior to joining Omneon in April 2003, Stedman was Senior Director of Marketing managing all outbound activities at SonicWALL, a leading Internet security company. Before SonicWALL, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Aladdin Knowledge Systems. There, he helped launch the company into the U.S. distribution channel and assisted with the integration of the company's acquisition of Preview Systems, where he had previously been Director of Strategic Marketing. Prior to Preview Systems, Stedman served as Director of Marketing for the workstation division of Silicon Graphics, where he directed the launch of the company's first Windows NT® workstations. |
