Harmonic Launches Iris 2.0 Advanced Video Quality Analytics Software

Featuring an enhanced graphical user interface and integration with several of the industry’s leading monitoring solutions, Iris 2.0 enables service providers to monitor and analyze their use of Harmonic broadcast encoders in real time, using the data to help optimize bandwidth and video quality. Iris delivers video quality monitoring, global channel availability, and source profiling measurements for hundreds of programs, both in real time and historically for up to one year.
New Omneon MediaGrid system software supports high-end post production workflows

The new Omneon MediaGrid System Software Version 3.1, is designed to support the performance needs of high-end post-production workflows. Equipped with this software, MediaGrid storage systems can support ingestion, editing, color correction, grading, and manipulation of uncompressed media.
Spectrum ChannelPort wins TV Technology STAR Award

Harmonic's new Spectrum ChannelPort integrated channel playout device received a STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) award from TV Technology magazine at NAB 2012. The awards are granted to technologies that "demonstrated their ability to help advance the acquisition and distribution of entertainment and information across the media spectrum."
Harmonic to supply storage and transcoding for NBC Olympics' production of 2012 Olympic Games

Harmonic will provide Omneon MediaGrid shared storage systems and ProMedia Carbon enterprise transcoding software to NBC Olympics, a division of the NBC Sports Group, during its production of the 2012 London Olympic Games from London, England, July 27 – Aug. 12. The Harmonic media storage and transcoding systems will enable NBC Olympics to process and deliver high-quality content quickly, while relying entirely on digital media in a file-based environment within the NBC Olympics Highlights Factory, which is used to support content creation for NBCOlympics.com, mobile platform distribution, and IPTV and VOD services.
Harmonic extends multiscreen transcoding leadership with next generation of ACE
With the new multiscreen transcoding functionality, the updated ProStream 1000 with ACE is capable of transcoding up to 20 HD streams and 80 adaptive streaming profiles in a single, dense, power-efficient 1RU appliance. As a key component of Harmonic’s comprehensive multiscreen solution suite, the ProStream 1000 with ACE is integrated with Harmonic’s powerful ProMedia file transcoders, adaptive bit rate packager and origin server, and MediaGrid active storage system, enabling seamless and operationally-efficient deployment of multiscreen services.
Swisscom expands services with Harmonic transcoding

Swisscom, Switzerland’s leading telecom provider, has chosen Harmonic’s ProMedia Live real-time multiscreen transcoding platform and NMX Digital Service Manager to provide high-definition video streams for its expanded Web TV and mobile TV services, enabling Swisscom to significantly increase the number of live channels it delivers, with excellent video quality.
Harmonic introduces multifunction receiver-decoder With integrated transcoding

The next-generation, multifunction ProView 7100 provides transcoding, transport stream descrambling, and MPEG stream processing in a single rack unit. Leveraging a flexible and modular design, the IRD’s SD and HD MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC video decoders and transcoders allow content providers, broadcasters, cable MSOs, and telcos cost-effectively to address a wide range of full transport stream distribution and contribution applications, including DVB descrambling and digital turnaround processing.
Source Cable chooses Harmonic edgeQAM for data and VOD delivery

Canadian cable television provider Source Cable deployed Harmonic’s NSG™ 9000 HectoQAM™ in its headend, allowing it to increase the speed of its Internet/data services and add new video-on-demand (VOD) services. Utilizing the highly scalable nature of HectoQAM, Source Cable can cost-effectively deliver data as well as HD and SD VOD services to its subscribers from a single, unified edgeQAM chassis.
